As guests like Jessica Wang and Sai De Silva made their way to the dining area, where more than 40 tables were decorated with a vibrant combination of pink and purple bouquets, violinist Natie continued the lively evening with upbeat tunes. Dr. Monica Ramírez-Montagut greeted everyone before introducing us to Parrish trustees and dinner co-chairs Aliya LeeKong and Deborah F. Bancroft. The highlight of the evening was the main opening—an opportunity for guests to commit financially to support the museum’s educational initiatives, which help provide access and opportunity for youth and adults in need. Result? More than $1.2 million was raised in celebration of multiple events.
It’s hard to believe that summer is halfway through, but the Parrish Museum of Art sent a much-needed reminder to cherish and enjoy the last days of the season by naming its annual fundraiser Midsummer Miracle. The highlights of the evening were truly magical, especially since this year marks the 125th anniversary of the Watermill museum, based in NY. This year’s celebration honored Katharina Otto-Bernstein, Fred and Robin Seegal, along with artists Eddie Martinez, Sam Moyer and Hank Willis Thomas. You can find all of their work on display in the Artists Choose Parrish exhibition, which celebrates the museum’s founding. Guests from around the worlds of art, fashion and business have gathered on the lawn behind the museum to enjoy a sunset cocktail. While attendees sipped Wolffer and Patron wines, there were plenty of models posing in the fields with outfits from the 2024 resort collection of Max Mara, the evening’s sponsor. The floral embroidery line is actually inspired by the seven wildflowers in the Scandinavian Romantic Summer tradition.
